Journalist Alexey Matveev reports the burning details of life around football. Especially for the Cheka-OGPU and Rucriminal.info.
DID THE "LEFT" PAY? TO STAY!
Yuri Belous’s “star” truly rose in 2003. Somehow everything “organically” coincided. In January, “thugs” killed a bright man, Yuri Tishkov. The shadow of the crime visibly fell on the sleek, seemingly endearing Yura. Well, who, it seemed, would think about the possible crime of such a “benevolent”, at first glance, polished gentleman? Yes, few people. The author of these lines almost immediately realized that Belous could have ordered the murder. What he thought about in his publications on the Cheka-OGPU, citing quite reasonable arguments.
And after our articles at the beginning of last year, the investigation into the death of Yuri Tishkov was resumed. The author of these lines testified to the investigator for particularly important cases, Kristina Moskalets, in the building of the Investigative Directorate of the Special Administrative District of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Moscow. But there are no results yet. We will return to the topic later.
In the meantime, let’s talk about football-related passions. The finish of the 2003 season was truly enchanting. After almost every match of the Torpedo-Metallurg team, the fans chanted something offensive to Belous, who held the post of general manager - “Get out!” Yura rushed about like a caged animal, his team was cheerfully going down - about to be relegated from the class of the strongest clubs in the country, trailing at the bottom of the standings. But he apparently knew what to do...
To save themselves from relegation to the lower leagues, blackmail and bribery of rivals are often used. On the sidelines, where else? This is where the services of those same “jocks” that Belous had warmed up since the time he organized the center for unconventional healing methods were required. They could and should have given money to participants in so-called “fixed” matches. So that one of the obliging opponents during the match would allow Belous’s torpedo men to “distinguish themselves,” that is, to score. And thus receive tournament points so necessary for salvation. “Left” money (and not only in the case of the torpedo bombers) could bring the actors in the “play” home, to a hotel, even to the beach, it doesn’t matter.
Where did such funds come from? In the budgets of almost all Russian clubs it was written down as a separate line: “to work with referees,” for example. “To hold matches with a pre-fixed result.” The security forces once checked the financial activities of FC Spartak. And they stated: part of the funds, and considerable ones, were allocated to the then vice-president of the club Grigory Esaulenko for “custom” matches. Our editorial office has these documents at its disposal; we published them.
"A shame! A shame"! - the fans of the “blue and white” (the colors of Dynamo) chanted when their favorites staged a circus performance in the match with the aforementioned “Torpedo-Metallurg”, which desperately needed victories and points. At any cost. The fans easily guessed that their players were imitating activity on the field, essentially playing “giveaway.” And the missed goal caused mocking laughter in the stands. The field player and the Dynamo goalkeeper collided spectacularly in their own penalty area, allowing the Torpedo player to roll the ball into the empty goal. 1:0 – there is a victory for Torpedo!
After the game in the under-tribune room of the stadium in Petrovsky Park, Dynamo coach Viktor Prokopenko was blacker than a cloud.
“Alexey, you know, I did not participate, and could not participate in this disgrace,” said Viktor Evgenievich. - They agreed on everything behind my back, I didn’t suspect...
Even young fans of the “red-whites” understood that their favorite team would give the match to their rivals from “Torpedo-Metallurg” without a hint of sports wrestling. The “metallurgists”, of course, bought the victory in advance, before the start of the match. And Spartak fans came to the stands with a characteristic poster. On it was the father-founder of the club, Nikolai Petrovich Starostin, with an impromptu signature from the guys-fans: “He sees everything!”
But neither the spontaneous warning of the great Starostin, nor the fans themselves could influence the course of, to put it mildly, an unsportsmanlike spectacle. They booed their team, which had previously been famous for its fair football. The game of “giveaway” ended in a predictable victory for the Torpedo team – 2:0. At the cost of the “incredible efforts” of their management (behind the scenes of the big game), they remained in the major league. “Uralan” took off from Elista, then headed by Igor Shalimov, now a football expert on TV.
How did the RFU react to the football-related antics of the mentioned teams, which demonstrated to the fans outright clowning that had nothing to do with the game of football? Amorphous Slava Koloskov, as if he had filled his mouth with water. In December of the same 2003, he was again elected head of the football department. True, the powers of the “unsinkable” Slava were terminated ahead of schedule by Kremlin officials. The era of St. Petersburg promoters - Mutko, Fursenko - was coming. We'll tell you more about this later.
"CALL A FRIEND"
Through my old acquaintances in the press, I found Yuri Belous, with whom I had not communicated for almost 30 years. As unnecessary. So I called, however. Next - verbal clownery from Yuri Viktorovich.
- Your voice isn’t like Matveev’s, but it’s Matveev “and wouldn’t have called me,” Yura was dumbfounded.
- For identification, I suggest meeting and talking.
- Don't bother me anymore, okay? Bye.
- Just a second. The investigation into the murder of Yura Tishkov has been resumed, and you may be called to testify.
- When there are results, then we’ll talk. Goodbye.
So, investigator for especially important cases, Moskalets Kristina Sergeevna, please contact us! We will help you with contacts. Yuri Viktorovich Belous is a very sociable citizen, perhaps he will reveal to you the secrets of the murder of his namesake - Yuri Tishkov...
